FairDetail researches prices that detailing businesses publish on their own websites or booking pages. Each listing links to a company-owned public source and shows the date it was checked. Some businesses require a quote and have no recorded public prices. Those listings are excluded from price calculations. The current catalog is a selected-market sample, not a census of US detailers.

What a checked price means

We found the amount at the linked source. It does not mean the business verified its listing, agreed to a partnership, or guaranteed that price for your car. We do not create customer reviews, ownership-verification badges or quality rankings.

How comparisons work

1. Match the service category and a vehicle category explicitly stated by the source.
2. Use one eligible offer per independent business. If a business has several comparable offers, use its lowest eligible standard package.
3. Exclude unspecified vehicle sizes from exact sedan/SUV comparisons. Do not multiply sedan prices to invent truck prices.
4. Require at least five independent businesses before showing a comparison range or price verdict.
5. For a ZIP search, use researched businesses in its county, clearly labeled. If the county sample is too small, show that gap and keep the broader catalog sample separate.

Starting prices and conditions

“From” amounts remain starting prices. Promotions, add-on-only offers, unit prices and package conditions remain visible. A low or high amount is not a judgment about quality. The checker compares advertised amounts; package scopes can still differ.

Ordering and commercial relationships

Directory results are alphabetical. We do not charge for placement, sell a higher ranking or sell visitors’ contact information. Businesses listed from public information are independent and are not automatically part of a quote-delivery network.

Updates and removal

Owners and visitors can report a correction, provide a current price-list URL or request removal. Ownership-sensitive changes are reviewed before publication. No removal fee applies.

Limits

Published prices can change without notice, and service areas can be approximate. Ask the business about final pricing, taxes, travel, condition surcharges and availability. We have not inspected the vehicles or assessed the quality of the work.
